Morphine Suffering

In 2008, in the small town of Boyarka near Kiev, five comrades formed the Morphine Suffering group. At that moment, none of the guys suspected that the group would become one of the founders of the Ukrainian metalcore scene and would be recognized as one of the best metal bands in Ukraine.

During the first year of its existence, the group played about a dozen concerts and began studio work, the result of which was the EP "Pay & Die", presented at the end of 2008. And a year later, in 2009, the group pleased its fans with the second studio EP "Open your eyes". 2009 and 2010 were reformation years, the group underwent significant changes in the composition. During these 3 years, 6 members have changed in the team. The new line-up was formed in 2010 and was serious about hard work and high-quality results. New people - new music. It was during this period that the group experimented a lot and formed its own style and corporate sound. From that moment on, the group decides to be completely Russian-speaking and become the first metalcorers in Ukraine. Maxim Zhivolup (bass guitar) and Vlad Rylsky (guitar), who were originally founded the group since 2008, together with Alexei Shatokhin (drums) and Yuri Klyuchnik (vocals) record the first full-length album "The Light Will Not Go Out" and shoot the first in their history of the video clip for the song "Well, how much more?" As the participants themselves note, it was from this moment that a new chapter in the history of MS began. The all-Ukrainian tour in support of the album gathered thousands of supporters at concerts, morphines have visited almost all 25 regions of Ukraine. Everything went fine, but the divergence in tastes and different visions of the future of the group lead to new changes, and this time Yura Klyuchnik and Maxim Zhivolup leave the team. Within a year, Mikhail Rybak becomes the voice of morphines, and Sergey Panasyuk takes the bass in his hands. With this line-up, the guys existed for only a year, during this time they played a number of concerts, as well as recorded the single "Remember". As it will become known later, 2014 was the most in the history of searching for your frontman, because Andrei Gerasimenko, who appeared in the composition of morphines, remains unchanged to this day. Together, the guys record the single "The Time Has Come" and begin work on the creation of their second full-length album, which the world saw in 2015 called "Remember who you are."

Also, 2014 is marked as a turning point in the history of MS, that this very year the group was recognized as the best metal band in Ukraine, having received the award for The Best Ukrainian Metal Act.

After the release of the album "Remember who you are", in the fall of 2015, the group goes on a tour with the presentation of the disc in the cities of Ukraine. At this time, Sergey Sokhryakov (bass guitar) joins the band, who becomes a full-fledged member of the group and ends the series of "temporary" bassists in MS and remains unchanged to this day. The last on the list of cities was the city of Kiev, which gathered a record number of supporters for the guys under the stage of 1000 people.

In 2016, Morphine Suffering made a presentation of a concert and festival video for the song "The Sky Will Forgive", became ambassadors of the all-Ukrainian action "Let's Make Ukraine Clean Together", and also released a documentary film "This Night", which tells about the preparation for the first solo concert, studio work, touring and the lives of musicians on and off stage.

In the spring of 2016, the group's second solo concert took place in Kiev, which was able to confirm the record of the first, gathering almost a thousand fans of heavy music under the MS stage. This year has been one of the hottest and most intense performances. The group played at such high-profile festivals in Ukraine as Atlas Weekend, West Fest Beautiful city, Banderstat, Taras Bulba, Respublika and many others.

After a long pause, in 2018 the team presents 3 singles at once - "Sam", "I have something to say" and "I don't believe". As the guys themselves note, these tracks are part of the new EP "Stop being silent." The rest of the morphine songs are promised to be presented in the spring of 2021.

Some interesting facts about the band:
